Research at NOVA

NOVA´s strategic position can be characterized as follows: "A research environment with emphasis on a broad-based social science approach combined with a life-course perspective."

Research activity at NOVA is organized into six research groups:

Norwegian Social Research conducts research of a good international standard and the institute is the leading national research institute on child welfare, youth, ageing and the elderly, and social security. NordForsk has awarded NOVA a Centre of Excellence in Welfare Research: Reassessing the Nordic Welfare Model, www.reassess.no.

New book: Getting Published in International Journals

European scholars – and not the least young researchers and PhD students – are increasingly met by expectations to publish their research in international referee-based journals. Partly as a result of these expectations, we see a growing competition over getting published in the best journals.

A Successful Mid Term Evaluation for REASSESS and NordWel!
Over the last months the two Nordic Centres of Excellence in Welfare, REASSESS and NordWel, have been subjected to a thorough evaluation of their work so far. The outcome of the evaluation would determine whether the centres would receive funds from NordForsk for the remaining years.
