Some of the leading researchers in the field of income distribution ad income inequality will participate at the REASSESS conference in Asker, Norway, 27-28 April 2010. Registration deadline is April 15th.
International conference on income distribution:
Income inequality in the Nordic and other countries compared - the role of welfare states and the distribution of earnings.
Income distribution and income inequality are central issues for welfare states. To a large extent, welfare policies are concerned with alleviating the effects on individuals of being in the lower end of the income scale. Recently there has been a discussion in the research community on whether income inequality is increasing, and if so; what are the causes and consequences of this change. To contribute to the debate, the Nordic Centre of Excellence "Reassessing the Nordic Welfare Model" arranges a conference with some of the leading European researchers in the field.

- Johan Fritzell: Income inequality and health
Papers:
After the plenaries we will organize a paper session. For those who would like present a paper at the conference; please send an abstract before 1 March. Feedback regarding acceptance will be given before 15 March. Deadline for submission of full paper is 15 April. Papers should be submitted to Tale Hellevik at NOVA: tale.hellevik@nova.no.
